Every autumn, Unity Church of Overland Park comes together for Fall Faith, our beloved tradition of study, reflection, and community. This fall, we journey alongside Valarie Kaur through her transformative book, See No Stranger. Our series begins on Sunday, September 21, 2025—and you’re invited!

About the Book

THIS BOOK IS FOR ANYONE WHO HAS FELT BREATHLESS. YOUR BREATHLESSNESS IS A SIGN OF YOUR BRAVERY. IT MEANS YOU ARE AWAKE TO WHAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW: the world is in transition.

In See No Stranger, Valarie Kaur—renowned Sikh activist, filmmaker, and civil rights lawyer—invites us into a powerful practice she calls revolutionary love: a radical, joyful way of relating that connects us to others, our opponents, and ourselves. She teaches that when we look at someone and say, “You are a part of me I do not yet know,” we open the door to transformation, healing, and a future shaped by compassion and justice.

Drawing on her compelling life story—growing up in California farmland, navigating the aftermath of 9/11 hate crimes, serving as a law student defending the oppressed, responding to xenophobic attacks, and healing from experiences of trauma—Kaur weaves together memoir, spiritual practices, wisdom, and communal history. The result is a deeply practical and poetic guide for resilience, longevity, and joy.

Revolutionary love, she says, is not only possible—it’s essential.
