At Unity Church of Overland Park volunteer service is the backbone of our spiritual community. We believe that being in service enhances our own experience of living an abundant and meaningful life. There are many opportunities to serve our spiritual community as well as our local community and beyond.
Let us help you get started… Consider your passions or what you love.
Do you enjoy connecting with people or are you happiest serving behind the scenes? Do you want to be “up front” on Sundays or would prefer to serve during the week or seaonally? Do you have a passion for making a difference in our local community? Are you seeking a small group of common interest?

Affinity Groups
Be part of a group of like-minded people to connect and grow!
This group meets on 4th Saturdays at Plexpod Cafe for workshops, dialogue, spiritual healing and prayer support. Doors open at 10am for socializing/snacks and programming begins at 10:30am. Unity is open and affirming and blesses the wholeness of all people, regardless of gender expression or sexual orientation. This is a safe space for members of the LGBTQ+ community to engage in spiritual dialogue and connection. Contact Rev. Jacquie for more info and join our Facebook group. ASL access is provided.
We offer 2 gatherings each month. First Sundays at 2pm are a beginner-friendly class for a small love offering (hook and yarn will be supplied). Third Mondays at 6pm are a fellowship time and open to anyone working on a crochet, knit, cross-stitch, etc project with no cost. We meet in the Plexpod Cafe and offer a Zoom option. The Men’s Group Breakfast is on the first Saturday of each month at 8:30 a.m. at the Lenexa Public Market. At 9am, the group walks to the Lenexa Public Library meeting room to connect on a topic.

EXPRESS YOURSELF IS FOR CREATIVE SPIRITS!
Facilitated by church member and retired theatre professor, Tony Piazza, Express Yourself provides opportunities to gather with others to share and express the creativity that speaks to your heart.
Whether it be through art, music, poetry – your own or written by someone else – or perhaps a story to share or a request for tips on public speaking . . . everyone has creative gifts.
This is a safe space to share them with others and get to know each other in better in the process.

When: Every 1st Wednesday of the month
Time: 4 – 5:30 pm.
A sign-up sheet is available in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings, or you can sign-up with this online form. Use the form to request ASL access.
This new group meets monthly online using Zoom. Each month presenters share a healing modality, including physical, mental, emotional, nd spiritual levels. These modalities include reiki/energy work, yoga/nia/movement, shamanic work, kirtan chanting, nutrition, and more! The circle is open to those who want to learn more about the healing path, expand your own healing journey, and connect with others on the path. Meets on the 1st Thursday of the month. Its vision is to promote stewardship of the environment and an awareness of our oneness with the earth. Our green team provides a variety of activities throughout the year including their annual Clean Stream Event, in support of Earth Day. | For more information contact team leaders Mike McCord at Michael_mcCord@sbcglobal.net.
Earn a Green Star Award! Make changes for a greener world by recycling, reusing, reducing energy consumption, or conserving material for the next 12 months. To participate, choose items from a provided list, or add another of your choosing, that will result in a reduction of at least 2,000 pounds of carbon emissions over the next 12 months.
At the end of the quarter, submit to the Green Team all support documentation to Mike McCord Michael_mcCord@sbcglobal.net. Once they have been approved, you will receive a handsome “Green Star” Certificate and acknowledgement by Unity Church of Overland Park. In addition, the person who reduces the most carbon dioxide for the quarter will have his or her name permanently engraved on the Green Star plaque.
