Breaking News:
Mental Health Crisis Stabilization Center OPEN House!

It’s time to celebrate! We’re cutting the ribbon on the crisis center!
Adults in mental-health crisis will have a local place to go — a safe, dignified alternative to an emergency room or jail cell. This is not just a facility. It’s a promise fulfilled — a cornerstone of the Continuum of Crisis Care that our network has been pressing for since the very beginning of this campaign.
The official Open House for the Crisis Center will be held on Friday, November 7th, 2:00-4:00 pm!
This is our moment to show up and celebrate. To walk through those doors and see what our collective voice has made possible. Every meeting, every one-on-one invitation, every turnout at a Nehemiah Action — all of it helped move this from idea to reality.
So mark your calendars! Bring your team. Invite your congregation. Let’s fill that open house with gratitude, joy, and pride. RSVP using the button below.

This year, we’ve built our biggest network yet! Over 600 Johnson Countians passed a strand of yarn from hand to hand this fall. This yarn represents a shared commitment to justice and solidarity that will heals old wounds of redlining, division, and discrimination in our community’s history.

Above: On October 26th, the network held the first major gathering of the 2025-2026 cycle – the Community Problems Assembly!
Here’s the bottom line(s):
Our mental health campaign shows: Organized people can move institutions towards their stated values.
Our eldercare campaign shows: Courage at the local level can become policy at the state level.
Our housing campaign is a testament to the fact that if exclusion was “planned for permanence,” then inclusion must be planned with persistence.
