In this three-week series, Healing Humanity: Spiritual Oneness & Inclusivity, we welcome Emmy-award winning journalist and published author, Lisa Benson as we explore the depths of the spiritual concepts of Oneness and Inclusiveness as remedies for our very real experiences of separation from one another and from God. This series will take us from Reflection to Awareness to Action as we continue the work of dismantling racism, illuminating unconscious bias, and engage both learning and unlearning all for the purpose of truly living out our Oneness as we cultivate inclusive communities.
At Unity Church of Overland Park, one of our core values is Inclusiveness. Our core values Spirit-Led, Love, Inclusiveness, Abundance, and Joy create a culture through which we demonstrate our mission to transform lives and empower people to make a difference in the world.
The first two Sunday services will be followed with an open discussion (in-person and Zoom, ASL access provided) at 11:30am CST to further digest the concepts presented during service. Register here to attend by Zoom. The third Sunday, Jan. 28th, will be followed by a two-hour workshop facilitated by guest speaker/facilitator Emmy-award winning journalist, life coach and published author, Lisa Benson. The workshop will also be offered in-person and on Zoom, with ASL access provided along with lunch by Enjoy Pure Food + Drink! There is a fee of $20 for the workshop, all are welcome. Week 1, Jan. 14th @10am Sunday service followed by Open Discussion
REFLECTION: Revs. Jacquie and Eileen will have a conversation reflecting on their personal journeys as well as their commitment to and inspiration for the spiritual imperative to dismantle systemic racism. Every journey begins with Reflection, and so will this series as we are all invited to reflect on our lived experiences, thoughts, and ideas about how Oneness and Inclusiveness can be the salve to heal humanity.
EnVee teams up with Rev. Fred and the band to launch the three-part series!

AWARENESS: Rev. Eileen will move us into an exploration of Awareness. We don’t know what we don’t know, therefore awareness is key. At UCOP, one of our core values is inclusiveness and we will take a deep dive into the heart of this value as we explore concepts such as implicit and unconscious bias, accessibility, and the differences between diversity, inclusivity, and equity. This awareness is one way we fulfill our mission to transform lives and empower people to make a difference in the world.

ACTION: We are thrilled to welcome DEIJ consultant, Emmy-award winning journalist, life coach and published author Lisa Benson for an empowering Sunday talk and workshop. Emergence is a process of coming into being. It’s the action necessary to become the best version of you!
During Lisa’s thought-provoking talk and workshop she’ll inspire and empower attendees to be lifelong learners in their relentless pursuit of inclusion, and belongingness. This presentation will help build the confidence and psychological safety necessary to engage in uncomfortable conversations about race and internalized racial identities while leading with empathy, transparency, and authentic connections. This Sunday experience will challenge good people into greatness with a powerful reminder that everyone is worthy of kindness, respect, and love!
