I remember, even as far back as when I was a child, wondering exactly what my purpose is for this lifetime. I pondered the existential questions –
Who am I? Why am I here? What am I supposed to be doing? Is this all there is?
Answers to these questions were revealed to me on May 1, 2008 through an angel reading with Steffany Barton. She conveyed these impactful words to me, which spoke to the very depth of my soul:
I just have to tell you – you are a healer. Your soul is here to help change the world. You are here to shine your Light, so that others can remember the truth of who they are. You – allowing yourself to be a channel for Spirit, allowing yourself to smile and to listen and to be available to people when they are in need and to see them differently than they see themselves. That’s how you change the world and that’s how you heal hearts, one by one by one.
Unity’s Principles first came into my awareness in 2009 when I attended a class at Unity Church of Overland Park in Overland Park, Kansas. These five principles freed me from fear-based religious oppression and gave me courage to forge ahead on my path of spiritual learning and discovery.
At that time, I also became attuned as an Usui and Karuna® Reiki Master. As I began offering Reiki healing sessions to others, I knew the energy was assisting me, too. In addition to clearing out the energetic clutter from my life, Reiki has supported my own empowerment and enhanced my abilities.
Subsequently, I immediately began developing and honing my intuitive, psychic and mediumistic abilities by studying with Sonia Choquette, Lisa Williams, James Van Praagh, John Holland and Tony Stockwell. My intention as an evidential medium is to facilitate healing through mediumship by providing evidence of those who have transitioned as well as beneficial messages.
Observing the transformation that occurs with these connections is powerful and heart-warming. I am guided to mention that I have undergone extensive testing through Mark Ireland’s Certified Mediums Program and am also listed as a provider for Helping Parents Heal, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting parents whose children have passed.
Spirit communication is mind-to-mind and soul-to-soul now that those who have transitioned are pure love energy without the restriction of a dense physical body. The communication is much different than when they were in physical form and now comes through thoughts, images, feelings, impressions and memories.
Please know that each one of us has the ability to communicate with our loved ones in Spirit. In order to do so, we have to heighten our awareness, clear our mind, open our heart and be receptive to the information that we receive. Our human-ness will often want to overthink and overanalyze what comes through.
When I reflect on my spiritual journey, I recall the personal challenges that I faced as I stepped fully into working as an intuitive medium. Many close family members were fearful, and their religious dogma influenced their perspective greatly. I realize that fear is a powerful force, and often we may be afraid of what we don’t understand.
With that said, I recognize that everyone experiences life in different ways – is immersed and sometimes enmeshed in their own reality, has their own perception and level of awareness. They are also experiencing life through the lens of the emotion they are feeling in the moment.
Thankfully, I am at peace with who I am and what I do. Helping others heal is truly a passion of mine.
