Everyone Wear RED
Please wear a RED top of some kind — shirt, sweater, sweatshirt, or jacket.
Red will:
- Show our unity clearly across the room
- Make our presence unmistakable but disciplined
- Help you quickly identify like-minded folks in the gallery
Why Turnout Matters — Even More Now
Organized opposition remains active and has hired an attorney in an effort to stop this project. There is a possibility that the City Council may need to go into executive session to confer with their own counsel.
If that happens: hang tight. Do not leave.
While you wait, you’ll find postcards in your snack bag to fill out for our County Commissioners, thanking them for granting the funding that made this Habitat project possible. We will use every minute well.
The opposition’s legal maneuvers make turnout on February 17 just as important, if not more so. We must demonstrate overwhelming support to the City Council.
This project would create 50 permanently affordable homes for working families. A strong, visible, values-driven presence reinforces that this proposal is reasonable, well-vetted, and supported by the broader community.
What to Expect
- Parking in garage adjacent to City Hall
- Pick up a sign and snack bag from Good Faith Network staff upon entry
- Take a seat in the gallery
- Be prepared to stay for the item
MANY thanks to the Lenexa residents who have already stepped up to assist with public comment. It will be a powerful voice of support from the podium.
Now let’s fill the room with supporters wearing RED.
See you Tuesday night.
