At Unity Church of Overland Park, we believe music has the power to open hearts, bring people together, and create meaningful moments of connection. This summer, we invite you to join us at the Fillmore KC for two special evenings featuring talented artists whose music inspires, uplifts, and resonates long after the final note.
Our Summer Concert Series begins with an exciting performance by EnVee, a Cuban-born vocalist whose rich musical background spans jazz, gospel, Latin influences, and classic vocal traditions. With a powerful voice and captivating stage presence, EnVee has performed on national television, shared stages with renowned artists, and touched audiences through music that crosses genres and generations.
Joining EnVee are two familiar faces from the Unity Church of Overland Park community. Rev. Fred Albers, our Music Minister, has spent years sharing messages of hope, inspiration, and spiritual connection through music. His unique ability to blend heartfelt storytelling with uplifting songs has made him a beloved part of our church family.
Also performing is James Albright, a talented bassist known for his work with the UCOP Band and the Kansas City-based fusion group Boko Maru. His musical versatility and passion for live performance add depth and energy to every ensemble he joins.
Together, these artists will create an evening filled with inspiration, joy, and exceptional music.
The series continues with Kansas City’s own Kelley Hunt, an acclaimed singer-songwriter, pianist, and multi-instrumentalist whose career has spanned decades and earned praise from audiences and critics alike.
Rooted in blues, gospel, soul, Americana, and roots music, Hunt’s performances are known for their authenticity, powerful vocals, and masterful musicianship. Her songs explore themes of resilience, hope, and the human experience, inviting listeners into stories that are both deeply personal and universally relatable. Whether performing at major festivals, recording critically acclaimed albums, or sharing an intimate concert experience, Kelley Hunt brings a level of artistry that leaves a lasting impression.
Joining Kelley Hunt is James Albright, whose expressive bass playing has become a familiar sound within the Unity Church of Overland Park community. As a member of the UCOP Band and Kansas City fusion group Boko Maru, James brings exceptional musicianship, creativity, and energy that enrich every performance.
Also appearing is Allena Ross, a Christian singer-songwriter, pianist, wife, and mother whose passion is using music to encourage, uplift, and inspire. Through heartfelt original songs and faith-filled performances, Allena shares messages of hope, grace, and God’s love. Her authentic style and genuine spirit create meaningful connections with audiences, making her a wonderful addition to this special evening of music.
