Based on survey responses and written feedback from the congregation, the UCOP Leadership Council has scheduled a Special Membership Meeting on Sunday, January 12, 2025, to vote on the proposal from Plexpod Lenexa. With a decision deadline of January 15, we are using this time to gather all necessary information to ensure an informed and inspired choice for the thriving future of UCOP.
At the meeting, the Leadership Council will present detailed outlines for two options based on your feedback:
- To engage with the Plexpod Lenexa proposal.
- To lease a space that includes offices, a sanctuary, and classrooms.
The Council and staff are diligently preparing financial projections, marketing strategies, and insights into how each option will impact the life of our community.
In the days leading up to this special meeting, we invite you to dedicate time to prayer and meditation, holding the vision for what is most life-giving to Unity Church of Overland Park. As a community, we are reminded that the church is not simply a building—it is all of us, in Unity as Spirit!
This decision is more than financial; it is a sacred and inspired choice that will shape the next chapter of UCOP as a beacon of Light in the world. Let us open our collective heart-mind to Spirit’s guidance, trusting that our path forward will be illuminated by faith, peace, love, and joy.
It is no coincidence that this discernment comes during the Advent season. As we reflect on its gifts, may we prepare for the birth of the Christ Light, allowing its wisdom to guide us toward the highest good for our beloved community.

Our bylaws allow for absentee voting for this meeting. Absentee ballots would need to be returned to the office by January 9th at 12noon. Send an email to request an absentee ballot.
